Personal Story
Four years ago Ben McNally was a little 11year old camper on his way to his first Walking On Water
Surf Camp from Atlanta, Georgia. With little experience in the ocean Ben was determined to leave
camp as a surfer. The camp had a lasting effect on his life and spiritual walk with the Lord. For a
school project Ben was asked to write a paper about the most influential person in his life and he
wrote about Bryan Jennings and his experience at Walking On Water Surf Camps. Through Bryan’s
testimony Ben was able to understand the love of Christ and that summer gave his life to the Lord.
Ben’s dad, Peter, was moved by the paper his son wrote and wanted to share this with Bryan. From
this letter Bryan and Peter, in conjunction with The Church of Apostles, planned an outreach in
Atlanta, Georgia and premiered Walking On Water. Over 600 people came out for the event and the
film had a great impact on the community, especially the youth.
Walking On Water Premiere in Bali
Director of Outreach Mike Doyle and Surfing the Nations (a missionary organization from Honolulu,
Hawaii.) hosted a premiere in Bali at the Hard Rock Café. Here is what Mike Doyle wrote regarding
the event:
“The Hard Rock Café was the best venue to have the premiere at. We had 500 seats and close to
600 people ended up showing up! They were standing all along the walls and sitting on the floor.
It was totally packed out and the crowd was a hardcore international surfing crowd full of pros
and some of the best surfers in the world. It was an answer to prayer! Tom Curren performed for
the crowd, which everyone loved, and then an amazing thing happened - Jamie O’ Brien (professional
surfer) came with his friends and asked us to take up an offering for a little Indonesian boy
who had been injured on a motorcycle - and we said absolutely! Close to a $1,000 was raised and
Jamie and all his friends were really moved by the response. It also brought Jamie and his friends who probably wouldn’t have come
and it warmed everyone’s hearts to receive the Gospel. It was just like what God did at the Virginia Beach Premiere. It was brilliant.
After the film was done I got up and shared the gospel and you could hear a pin drop - everyone was quiet, attentive, and fully listened
to what I shared. It was totally amazing because it was a very post-Christian, international, hard core surfing crowd who are very cynical
to the Gospel and the Christian faith. Yet they were into it! I led them in a prayer to receive Christ and believe people really responded.
Afterwards everyone hung out and many people came up to shake my hand and to thank me for the night. It was an absolute
amazing night and a total miracle.”
Atlanta Premiere
In late August we hosted a premiere in Atlanta, Georgia at The Church
of the Apostles with the help of the McNally family and church staff.
Over 600 people came out for the event with an outdoor theater and
a mechanical surfboard wave for the kids to enjoy. As the film began
to play it lasted five minutes before the rain started to fall. Thankfully
we had a back up plan and moved the screening inside. The crowd
was excited for the film and it turned out to be a great outreach for the
community and an encouragement for the church. We would like to thank
the McNally family, Curt Benham, Jonathan Adams, Brian Skaggs and the staff at Church of the Apostles for partnering with us and
helping make this event a success. We look forward to more events in Atanta with Church of the Apostles!

The Bay Area Premiere of Walking On Water
We want to thank Pastor and Dr. Larry Vold and Pastor Tyler Scott
along with the Campbell family for doing such a great job hosting the
Bay Area Premiere of Walking On Water. Working together with their
congregation at the Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley, they did
everything we hoped a host church would do. They prayed, promoted
and planned an incredible outreach including preparing 1,000 bags of
free popcorn for everyone who came! Over a thousand people came to
see Walking On Water on August 31st, 2008. Almost everyone’s hands
went up when we asked how many people in the audience had never surfed before. The audience obviously loved the movie and hooted
and laughed often throughout the screening. Many people received Christ for the first time and God really made the night special in
so many ways. We are looking forward to working together with the Neighborhood church staff on future outreach events!

2008 Fundraising Campaign Update
We have been so blessed this past year to see so many lives impacted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Walking On Water
surf movie worldwide outreaches and through the surf camps held in San Diego. Many of you have seen the “Tour Version” of Walking
On Water. We have made the final edit to the Walking On Water movie and it is now ready to be translated into thirteen languages. Our
goal is to have the movie translated and available on DVD by October 15th, 2008. Our staff has been working hard on the final production
of the DVD and also planning the continued world tour.
We have been so encouraged by so many people supporting Walking On Water with their prayers and finances! This ministry would
not be possible without you! Our goal through this Fundraising Campaign is to reach 1,000 supporters who will commit to
giving a monthly donation of $25. By becoming a monthly supporter we will be able to translate Walking On Water into 13 different
languages, complete the final version for DVD release, and continue the World Evangelistic Tour. I want to thank those of you who have
already signed up to be a monthly supporter of Walking On Water and would like to encourage those of you who haven’t yet, to please
prayerfully consider helping us reach our goal of 1,000 monthly supporters. If you want to become a monthly supporter please fill out
the enclosed card. You may also sign up online at www.walkingonwater.com/donations/. |
