Toshiro Oyama did a great job hosting this Walking On Water outreach in Osaka, Japan last week!

Bryan's Blog
It has always surprised me over the years to see how God would only need one willing person in a city to make a outreach event happen. Some of our most successful outreach events were hosted by individuals who had never organized an event before. God is able to do the impossible! Please watch this video and pray about hosting a outreach in your city!

For the past month, Walking On Water missionary Toshiro Oyama has been doing an amazing job screening our latest film titled Walking On Water in South Korea and also in Japan. The film is currently translated into 16 languages including Japanese and Korean. A W.O.W. team joined Toshi as they visited the Japan Sea for the first time. While there they screened the movie in a town called Hachohama in Amino. Toshiro introduced our team to a great guy by the name of Moriyama. Moriyama is the Japanese Director of the Surfrider foundation in Japan and is very well respected and connected within the surf community. The Japanese audience really enjoyed the movie and seeds were planted in their little beach community. We were also able to make plans and preparations for a future visit to the area where there will be opportunity to come along and help reach the surfers of Japan on a future mission trip.

W.O.W. World Tour Continues in France, Spain, & Portugal
We are on the airplane flying home from the Walking On Water outreach tour in France and Spain. I noticed that the guy sitting in front of us was watching a surfing film and as I looked closer I was amazed to see that it was one of our past films titled “The Outsiders”. As we talked I remembered meeting him at our screening/outreach in San Sebastian, Spain. God’s divine appointments are so incredible! The four W.O.W. movie screenings could not have been more blessed. When people in Spain and France hear of Christianity they immediately think of all the terrible things done in the past in their countries in the name of religion. Southwest France and Spain are very un-reached with the Gospel and approximately 100 Basque-speaking evangelical Christians out of nearly 1 million Basque speakers. God really used the unconventional tool of the W.O.W. surf movie being shown in their local bar/restaurants as a great opportunity for the Gospel message to be proclaimed. We realized that the movie and message were both received very well by the applause and meaningful conversations following the movie. The locals in the Basque country of Spain were impressed when they realized the W.O.W. movie had been translated into their language especially because no other surf film has been translated into their language (Besides “The Outsiders”). Our goals to share the Gospel, encourage the missionary couples/local churches, and to strengthen long-term friendships were definitely accomplished with God’s help. We were very blessed to partner with Christian Surfers France/Spain/Portugual and would like to thank Buck and Donna Waters, Chris and Megan Probasco, Joseba and Joanna Attard, Shane And Ruth Sparks, Derek Erwin, Ian, the Parenty Family, and also the Brethren church in Gijon.
Please be praying for the upcoming W.O.W. world tour outreaches in Peniche, Portugual on Oct. 24th, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Oct. 28th, and Lima, Peru in December.

WOW Europe Tour update so far….
God has truly blessed this tour so far. We just finished the first two screenings in Hossegor, France and San Sebastian, Spain. Both screenings were held at the local bar/restaurants where the surfers spend most of their time out of the water. Both venues were packed out with standing room only. In Hossegor there was a great BBQ before the movie. Chris Parenty and his Christian Surfers France team did a great job setting everything up! The movie and message afterwards was very well received and we had some great conversations afterwards. We were all feeling a little nervous about the San Sebastian screening especially because it was right in the heart of the core surfing community and our team was not sure how the movie and message would be received. However God completely blessed the night in every way! The bar was completely full of not only locals but of students from eight different countries. They laughed and paid close attention to the entire movie. I talked to the crowd afterwards through Joseba our new friend and incredible interpreter. We shared how God wants a relationship with us, not a religion and how Jesus gave us a free gift when he died in our place. Our team was pleasantly surprised to see that the crowd was very receptive to the message! They really appreciated the movie and the message that came in a fresh loving way with no strings attached. God had the victory! We are now off to Durango and Gijon, Spain for the last two outreaches. I will be doing a TV interview tomorrow before the Gijon screening. Thank you for praying and please continue! God is so amazing and working powerfully all over the world!
Special thanks to our team from Portugal, France, and Spain including Buck and Donna Waters, Chris and Megan Probasco, Joseba and Joanna Attard, Shane And Ruth Sparks, Derek Erwin, Ian, and Parenty Family. Also to Pukas for the Surfboard giveaway!

THE AFTER PARTY AT HOSSEGOR SCREENING

Please be praying for Toshiro Oyama who is the director of our Japanese surfing missions as he and his mother are in South Korea this week screening the Walking On Water film. Please pray specifically for their screening on October 31st at the Kangnam Church in Seoul. It is very encouraging to see how God is using the Walking On Water film internationally especially now that it is translated into 16 languages including Korean.
Below are some photos of Toshi and his mom showing the Walking On Water movie at a Korean school. You can follow Toshiro Oyama’s outreach tour on his facebook, just search for his name.

Walking On Water just returned from its 6th annual mission trip in Japan working alongside the organization Christian Surfers Japan (CSJ). It was the most fruitful trip thus far, as our team saw at least 12 Japanese surfers receive Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior! Our team consisted of 15 W.O.W team members and a number of Japanese surfers from CSJ.
During our stay, we gave out approximately 1,000 of Walking On Water’s Noah’s Arc DVD’s and premiered the movie Walking On Water twice for the first time in Japan! One Japanese in attendance stated, “The movie made me think of my existence in a deep way.” For most, the message of forgiveness offered in Jesus Christ is absolutely foreign and unknown. When they see a film like this they are hearing the message of God’s love for the first time.
We would like to share just one story with you from our trip. Oka, our CSJ contact, took us around to meet all of his surf shop friends so we could give them a Noah’s Arc DVD. In one of the shops we were praying for the owners neck and a friend of his in the shop who’s relationship with his fiancee was broken. Through a translator one of the team members explained that Jesus can heal, and also restore relationships if you believe in Him. The shop owner’s friend said he wanted to believe, so we asked him if he wanted to make Jesus Lord of his life and he said “yes.” Right then and there he received the Lord! A Japanese girl who had been hanging out with our team said she wanted to do the same. Noticing that the shop owner looked very interested while we were praying for his friend we asked him if he too wanted to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He did! We prayed with all 3 of them to receive the Lord! It is amazing to witness God’s saving grace in action. We just showed up with willing hearts but it was Christ who orchestrated these events! Please pray that God continues to use Walking On Water and Christian Surfers Japan to reach lost souls in Japan.

Each year it has been so encouraging to get together for the Walking On Water end of the year fundraiser dinner. We are excited to announce that we have decided to do things a little differently this year. On Saturday, November 14th we will be hosting a family movie night at Coastline church in Encinitas, California. With ski and snowboard season approaching we thought it would be fun to show our friend Joel Parker’s faith based snowboard film titled One Year. Film producer Joel Parker and pro snowboarder Dave Downing will be there to introduce the movie. I hope that you and your friends/family can come enjoy a great movie, desserts, live music, and the end of the year Walking On Water praise report! Seats are limited so please register today. Please email Alli@walkingonwater.com or call 760-438-1111 with any questions.
If you not able to attend but would still like to make a end of the year donation please CLICK HERE to donate online.
Thank you for your continued support of Walking On Water!
