John 2:15 “So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables”
I believe that when we arrive in heaven and see God face to face we will most likely think to ourselves, “Wow you are not who I made you out to be!” 1 Corinthians 13:12 says that, “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” Is it possible that we have overlooked certain characteristics of Jesus Christ? We have often focused on the “Lamb of God” and have forgotten about the “Lion of Judah”. We have forgotten that while Jesus was gentle and loving, He was also confrontational and powerful. In John 2:15 Jesus makes a whip and turns over tables and drives the merchants out of the temple area. In other scriptures Jesus boldly confronts the religious leaders who nobody else would confront. Jesus also walked towards a demon possessed man and spoke with authority, commanding the demons to leave him. I pray that we can take comfort knowing that Jesus Christ is our gentle loving Savior and also our Almighty King of Kings who fights our battles and protects us. We can all look forward to that day when we “shall see HIM face to face”. Be encouraged today to dig deep into the word of God and don’t overlook all the wonderful characteristics of who our amazing God is in Jesus Christ!
